Alaska, American and Emirates Arrive with This Week's New Routes

Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.

· Alaska Airlines:
Residents of Spokane and Boise just got a couple new options to and from Seattle—and beyond—thanks to Alaska Airlines. The flights were already available, but the airline just boosted the amount of planes heading back and forth by adding a couple more flights on each route. We know that Alaska Airlines loves Hawaii almost as they love their home state, so we’re thinking that these flights can help a few more mainlanders reach the islands a little more conveniently.

· Emirates:
We knew Emirates has been busy expanding around the world, and it looks like their latest nonstop option is a flight between Dubai and Copenhagen. They’ll be doing these flights every day of the week through a little assistance from Airbus A330 aircraft. Expect all kinds of luxuries and service if you’re sitting up front on these flights, but if not, we bet there’s at least a free can of soda if you’re sitting in the back.

· Hawaiian Airlines:
If you’re looking to fly around the world it might be a good idea to stop off in Hawaii for a few days of rest, relaxation—and recuperation! Hawaiian Airlines already offered a nonstop flight to Sydney a few times per week, but now it looks like as of December they’re going to do it everyday of the week. The airline will be using Boeing 767s on the new routes—not their new Airbus planes—and like we said it might be a good option if your dream is to fly around the globe. If not, Hawaii and Australia would probably make a pretty good vacation.

· VivaAerobus:
This week Chicago is getting a new option to the south of the border destination of Monterrey thanks to a new nonstop route aboard VivaAerobus. Mexico’s low cost carrier will start up the service in October between Monterrey and Chicago-Midway on Mondays and Fridays. The schedule will change a little bit in November, but it’s still going to remain a twice a week kind of thing. Cheap flights to Mexico can never really be considered a bad thing, so we’re glad to hear that VivaAerobus continues to expand in and around the nifty fifty.

· American Airlines:
It’s pretty hot in some—if not all—spots across the country, so American Airlines is already looking to the winter with some new flights into and out of Aspen. Nonstop flights between Los Angeles and the ski hotspot begin this December, and we’re sure there will be more than just a few celebrities heading back and forth on these flights. The flights will run through April 2, so there’s plenty of time to beat the heat of SoCal this summer in favor of a little winter weather. Just remember to bring your camera, so you can send us some of your personal paparazzi pictures.
