· Southwest Airlines:
Watch out Delta, because there’s a new airline rolling into your backyard. Thanks to the AirTran and Southwest merger, the airline that loves free checked baggage is bringing some new nonstop options to and from Atlanta for the very first time. As of February 12, 2012 the airline is bringing 15 daily flights to five different spots. These new options include Austin, Baltimore/Washington, Denver, Houston-Hobby, and Chicago-Midway. Things are already available to be booked, and the one-way fares start between $79 and $99.
· Alaska Airlines:
If you’re looking to practically guarantee yourself a white Christmas this December, look to Alaska Airlines for a little assistance. The airline is adding some seasonal nonstop service between Los Angeles and Anchorage during the week before Christmas as well as the week before New Year’s Day. It’s nice to see the airline already prepping to get family and friends home for the holidays, but just expect to pay a little bit of a premium to get on one of these flights during this busy time.
· American Airlines: [Photos: Boeing and gTarded]
Send your thanks to American Airlines for connecting New Yorkers with another slice of paradise in the Caribbean, as it looks like nonstop options are coming soon between JFK and Antigua. Starting just before Thanksgiving on November 17, American Airlines will start flying some of its Boeing 737s back and forth between the two spots four times per week. This new options will remove the need for a stop in Miami for those flying on American that are looking to hit the sun and sand of Antigua and Barbuda. We’ve already got our snorkel stuff and sunblock packed!
