Smell the BA, Not BO; British Airways to Introduce Signature Scent on Flights

Are you ready for this? British Airways has just announced that they will soon introduce a "signature brand scent" onto their airplanes, to make flyers think of luxury stores or anywhere other than a metal tube full of passengers with questionable hygiene. How do you prefer your airline—powder fresh or mountain spring? Finally we can say this: "We like our airlines like we like our deodorants: unscented."

The scent details haven't yet been released, although we're guessing a top note of bacon roll is off the table. Likely Eau de BA will follow in the fresh trend of the scent already found throughout British Airways' Heathrow lounges, that of cut grass and ocean.

Don't think that this is the first time an airline has had this idea, either. Singapore Airlines' flight attendants have been daubing their pressure points and infusing your hot towels with "Stefan Floridian Waters" since the 1990s. Seaside, Carnival Cruises have sold a ladies' perfume and scented lotion called "Cruise" in their onboard shops in the past, and maybe still.

Now the questions remains: will British Airways' flight attendants also be adopting the scent and can we snag a bottle from the duty-free cart?

hmm

1) not so good for allergic people, is it? 2) here's an idea for BA. why not focus on retraining your cabin crew to be nice, bringing your flight experience up to scratch and putting your premium economy seats on the same level as other airlines. once you've done that (and improved the food), then let's talk about fripperies like plane smell.
