Right now the plane is limited to the Atlanta area, so your dreams of picking up one of these ad-mobiles in New York or Los Angeles might be on hold for a little bit. For now all the cars are being wrapped in ads for Sheets Brand Energy Strips, so currently you don’t get to choose who or what you’re promoting.
We tried out a different set of dates, and we found that an ad-wrapped SUV for a full week this August would cost $145 before taxes and fees. That’s cheaper than an economy car for the same time period, and a lot cheaper than the almost $300 necessary for a regular SUV. It’s definitely a pretty creative idea, and if we were renting a car and things were tight—why not? Half the time the cars we get are wrecks anyway, so it’s pretty unlikely that our rental cars could get any worse—even if they’re fully wrapped in advertisements.
