If you regularly take off your shoes after a long day at work and toss them somewhere in the house, have we got a sport for you. The annual Boot-Throwing World Championship will kick off July 8 in Viljandi, Estonia, for a fierce two-day competition.

The first world championship was held in Finland in 1992 and since then, boot-throwing has become a serious sport. In fact, boot-throwing athletes have been caught taking performance-enhancing drugs and now there are regulations against them.

There are strict rules about how to play; you can't just bring your old snow boot. According to the International Boot Throwing Association, women must use a rubber boot in size 38, men size 43 and kids size 33. Yep, kiddies can start training to become boot-throwing greats with the children's contest. It doesn't matter whether you chuck a right or left shoe, though there are footwear weight specifications and only Siili brand boots are permitted this year.

A number of countries are into this shoe-slinging sport, including New Zealand and England. Though if you want to see the best launchers, you can bet your boots you'll find them here.
