Boeing didn’t do too badly either, as they were able to confirm some 737 and 777 sales. Although maybe airlines are just waiting to see what the next big thing is, as one rumor kicking around is that a new aircraft—maybe to be known as the 797—will be the plane to replace the current Boeing 737.
If you don’t have enough cash to talk to manufacturers about what you want in your own airplane you’re still welcome to visit Le Bourget to check out things for yourself. Just make sure you wait until the weekend, as the Paris Air Show doesn’t open up to the public until June 24. At that point things are open to one and all through June 26.
There will be flying displays from all kinds of planes, and of course airplane manufacturers will be on hand to show off some of their latest and greatest creations. The Boeing 787 is scheduled to be on hand for the show, so maybe you can even check out those composite wings in person. Just be sure to wear a good pair of sneakers, as all the displays and exhibits are set up right alongside the runways so here will definitely be plenty of walking.
Tickets to the fun start at €13 per person—that’s like $19 or so—and will get you access to one day of the air show. Things open up for the day at around 9:30am and run through 6pm, and organizers promise at least three hours of airplanes flying above the skies. There’s over 2,000 exhibitors on hand this year with well over 100,000 trade visitors expected, so you certainly won’t be alone.
