What Lady Gaga and Kate Middleton Share in Common This Summer

It's a Tale of Two Dresses this summer, as Lady Gaga and Kate Middleton enjoy one big similarity—that their respective most famous dresses will go on public display at museums.

As part of the Women Who Rock exhibition at Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Gaga's famous "Meat Dress" has been permanently installed from today. This is the curious garment she donned to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, and which spawned a million Halloween costumes. Because it was real, fresh meat on Gaga's bones, the museum has had to preserve it (with the help of a taxidermist) and paint it to appear fresh. Take a look at the finished exhibit dress here and judge for yourself if they did a good job of that.

On the other side of the pond, Kate Middleton's Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress will again see the light sooner than we had expected. From July 23 through October 3, the gown will have pride of place inside Buckingham Palace during the royal residence's annual summer opening. Unlike Gaga's ensemble, however, Middleton's frock will be joined by her McQueen shoes and diamond earrings. No meat shoes for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, sadly.

it'll be interesting to see which one fetches more, Lady Gaga's has a sell by date, I wonder how the buyer would preserve a meat-dress.
