Military Bands gather together in Times Square. Good time to meet some musical Marines.
4. Saturday, May 28, 4pm.
The Manhattan Dolls, a jazz/vocal trio, perform on the Intrepid. They dress in period costume (think retro pin-up girls) and it's one of the few female-focused things happening during the week.
3. Sunday, May 29, 11-11:30 am.
U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Helo Demo at Homeport Pier, Staten Island, NY. If you can make it to SI, the words "explosive" and "helo" (as in helicopter) should be enough to get you excited.
2. Friday, May 27, at 8 pm.
Intrepid Summer Movie Series "Kick-Off Event" screens the movie Top Gun on the flight deck. Free admission. Doors open at 7:30pm and movie starts at sunset.
1. Sunday, May 29, 10am-noon.
U.S. Marine Corps Marine Air Ground Task Force Demo in Corona Park, Queens, This should be awesome. Expect two hours of what would be modern military re-enactments, complete with full gear and special cameos from military vehicles.
