Megabus Drives North of the Border with More Canadian Routes and $10 Tickets

We love a good budget bus sale, especially when the starting price is $0.01. Sadly this isn't one of those practically-free blowouts, but Megabus has cut rates on their international routes to Canada and routes in Canada down to $10.

Want to head north when the weather warms up? Here's the deal: Megabus has 10,000 seats for $10 on each of its routes between Toronto and Montreal, and between Toronto and Niagara Falls, Ontario and Buffalo, NY. The dates for the discounted seats are between April 20 and June 23—perfect for a little weekend trip to keep things interesting before summer vacation hits.

If you'd rather leave straight from New York City, the only direct Canada option is a 10-hour ride to Toronto. Right now, average prices for those one-ways are $85, so for once people from cities that aren't NYC save the bucks.

Furthermore, we're delighted that Megabus is expanding in Canada. We're sure VIA Rail Canada doesn't feel the same way, but whatever. Remember—all of the Megabus buses are newer, with free WiFi and outlets (though avoid the middle of the bus if you want to score seats with the outlets).

Wifi only in the US

Megabus is fantastic -- far more comfortable than Greyhound, and the electric plugs are a godsend. Also, the Toronto > Buffalo route is at least an hour faster than Greyhound as the bus isnt on a milk run, stopping in every town along the way. Point of note: The wifi only works in the US, and not in Canada, something about our draconian internet prices/providers.
