Strategic Airlines May Be Your Next Ride Down Under

We know that Europe may be a cheap option this summer thanks to an airline that you usually wouldn’t expect to have affordable fares, and now that also might be the case for those looking to head down under. There’s an airline in Australia that’s still trying to figure out all the logistics and what not, but they’ve got their eyes on the United States along with a price point that we can all support.

Strategic Airlines has filed the appropriate papers to get permission to fly between Australia and the nifty fifty. They’ll be using Airbus A330 aircraft for the long trip across the Pacific, but that means that the flights will probably need to stop in Hawaii before continuing on towards the mainland—a tropical layover is always fine with us! If everything goes as planned, the planes could be heading back and forth as soon as September.

Even though tickets aren’t for sale yet—don’t get stuck on the airline’s name. Apparently, they are already considering switching things up to Air Australia before the maiden voyage.

Airline officials aren’t really giving any insight to where the planes might fly after their stopover in Hawaii, but they did hint that they’re not looking to compete directly with any other airlines. So we’re thinking that they won’t be picking Los Angeles, and will look for a west coast city where there’s a little less competition.

If you’re planning a trip to Australia anytime soon we’d stick with Qantas or V Australia, but we’ll let you know once a cheaper option has arrived.

Cheap fares to Australia

Well an option to stop in Hawaii would be a great thing becaus if you try to do that now it will cost you extra. Qantas and V Australia generally do the trip to LA or SF without the stop but loads of Australians going to USA want to stop in Hawaii so they might be onto a winner.
