XL Airways Will Get You to Paris This Summer for Around $700

Getting to Europe this summer is probably going to be fairly expensive thanks to rising oil prices, as well as the fact that everyone wants to cross the Atlantic for vacation. Finding cheap airfare might not be impossible if you know where to look, especially if you consider thinking outside the box when it comes to your air carrier.

Although we haven’t flown them ourselves (yet), we’re thinking that you might want to give XL Airways France a chance once the weather gets a little warmer. They’re hardly some random new airline, as they’ve been kicking around France and Europe since 1995. Hopefully that means that you won’t be left high and dry when its time to get a new stamp in your passport.

The transatlantic flights begin towards the end of May with Paris to New York flights beginning on May 23 and Paris to Las Vegas flights starting up on May 26. Don’t expect too much once you’re up in the air, but according to their website you’ll probably get a meal and there might be an in-flight movie—so be sure to pack your in-flight entertainment accordingly.

With only two ways to escape from the United States—via NYC or Vegas—the airline doesn’t really seem that great, but that’s only because we haven’t mentioned the price. Roundtrip tickets for some dates can be had for as low as around $700, and that includes taxes, fees, and whatever else that is attached right before your enter your credit card information.

Their French-language site will allow you to book tickets as of today, but their English website seems to only want to sell us a hotel—so you might need to wait a few more days or weeks before booking. Not all of the flights are around $700, as understandably the prices creep up as the summer advances. Also, these flights are a seasonal thing, so once September rolls around, this airlines will roll off.

Let us know if you try out XL Airways and their Airbus A330s this summer, and we’ll be sure to do the same if we test them out. Color us very intrigued.
