Where to Go with Your Tax Refund: Las Vegas

Tax day is coming, and you are excited not because you look forward to sifting through receipts and credit card statements, but because you're getting a fat refund...probably. The economy may be on its way back up, but you should try to stretch that tax refund as far as you can.

Tax Day has come and gone, and now you're finally ready to spend that refund. What better place to squander your extra cash than Las Vegas? Whether you hit a fine-dining restaurant or the casino, there are plenty of places to blow cash.

You can make the most of your Sin City trip by looking for package deals; check sites like Travelzoo and Kayak Deals. Travelzoo is running a special right now that gets you three nights on the Strip and airfare for as low as $86. The deal is for Circus Circus, which our sister site VegasChatter rated as its No. 1 budget hotel in Vegas. However, you can upgrade to such hotels as Planet Hollywood, Paris and the Wynn if you cough up more cash.

To see some of Sin City's famed shows, you can go to one of the Tix4Tonight spots, which sell half-price tickets to same-day performances. Or you can snag floor tickets to Penn & Teller's show at Rio for $55.25, regularly $93.50, or mezzanine seats for $45, usually $82.50, through Travelzoo. Or you also can always hit the blackjack table.
