Attention Chicago: Post to Facebook to Fly Virgin America's Inaugural Flight to O'Hare

In just a tad bit over a month from now, Virgin America will touch down at an airport they've been drooling over since they first began operations back in 2007: Chicago-O'Hare International. But now you're thinking "oh weird, Chicago's not that cool." Banish that thought—Chicago is so cool and, like with eating sushi, you can't knock it until you've tried it. Can you tell we're kinda excited?

To get Chicagoans equally riled up over the new routes direct to both SFO and LAX, they're asking Chicago-based travelers to submit a photo or video to the Virgin America "Flight for Chicago" contest page by May 11, 2011, "showing how they 'rise above the ordinary' and are not 'featherweight flyers.'" Do that—which is crazy simple and we don't understand why anyone wouldn't do this—and you get a code good for 2-for-1 tickets from Chi-town to either SFO or LAX and back.

Or you could just go for free...

As is Virgin America's style, they're having a big inaugural flight party and they're picking the 10 best Facebook submissions (five photos and five videos) in the contest to win roundtrip tickets on the first flight in to ORD. But you gotta get to the west coast first, right? Well, here's the weird part. Virgin is pretty confident in themselves, and they'll fly you out on one of their competitor airlines, before flying the victory stretch into Chicago on them. Get it? Now GO HERE to do it.

Now we know a lot of you jumped on that Groupon special Virgin America did to announce their Chicago routes, so you'll be able to start flying those soon. Remember if you fly into or out of SFO, you get to check out the new terminal! For reference here's the flight schedule, beginning May 25:
