Virtually Book Your Seat Onboard Lufthansa's A380 Inaugural Flight from SFO, and Win It

May 10. Mark you calendars, because this will be the day that plane spotters flock to San Francisco International Airport to check out the inaugural flight of a Lufthansa A380 on the SFO-Frankfurt, Germany route, and you could be there too—on board—for free. The double-decker superjumbo will begin jetting over the States and across the pond to Frankfurt starting May 10, and Lufthansa wants you (if you're on Twitter) to join them.

To get in on the action, check out their SeatTweet Contest. All you have to do is follow @Lufthansa_USA on Twitter today and tomorrow, and when they tweet to book your virtual seat, follow the link. The contest page lets you click on an unreserved seat on the A380's large seating plan (either of the two decks), allow Lufthansa connect to your Twitter and tweet your "virtual seat reservation" on your account, and you're entered to win one of the two trip packages onboard the inaugural flight—which includes round-trip airfare and two nights at the 5-star Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof Hotel.

You can enter to win everyday, once a day on each of the two days from 9am PDT, by virtually booking a seat and tweeting. They first tried out this contest for their JFK inaugural flight, and we guess it went well! It sure is a great little contest and the picking a seat action makes it feel more real, as if you actually have a chance at getting onboard this thing. After all, only so many people per day can enter as there are seats onboard.

We sincerely hope they bring this contest back a third time when Lufthansa deploys yet another A380 to the United States on June 10, with the launch of Miami-Frankfurt direct flights. Oh man, we are so A380-ed out (in the best way)!

If you want to check out what you'll be getting yourself into by traveling on Lufthansa'a A380, do check out our stories and photos from flying on its first-first inaugural flight only last year. And good luck!
