While do-gooder types may be planning to save the whales or do some other activity to make the world a better place on Earth Day, you can do your part by just eating and drinking wine this weekend. The Earth Day Food & Wine Festival goes down April 15 to 17 at Templeton, California, in the Central Coast.

Located halfway between L.A. and San Francsico, Templeton will host a feast of eco-friendly eats and vino. There will be farm-to-table lunches, winemaker dinners and more, but the biggie is the Grand Tasting at Pomar Junction Vineyard & Winery on April 16.

At the Grand Tasting, more than 200 food and wine purveyors will fill you up with unlimited samples of fresh, sustainably-grown and -produced dishes. For the fifth annual fest, farmers, chefs, winemakers and growers all collaborated on menus to ensure delicious and environmentally friendly offerings.

You'll also get to peruse exhibitors with earth-friendly products ranging from home building and energy-efficient products and services, to compost and landscape services, to boutique clothing and glassware.

But it isn't all about pigging out—though make no mistake, that's the reason to go—there also will be sustainability tours to see how Central Coast business and homes are going green, farm visits, biodynamic and organic garden workshops, cooking demonstrations, concerts and more.

Online tickets cost $75 and day-of tickets are $85. Admission gives you unlimited food and wine samples and a commemorative wine glass—no Styrofoam here.
