June 3 is the Most Important Day at Disneyland This Year

We’ve mentioned all the bulldozers at Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure on and off for quite some time, and it looks like Mickey is still busy in his construction worker outfit as the warmer weather approaches.

The two parks are already getting ready for the influx of locals and tourists, and this year visitors are going to have quite the summer. Projects to revamp the park across from Disneyland have been ongoing, but this summer another big milestone arrives. The front entrance of the park will be changing—so get ready to enter in some kind of weird maze way—but once you’re inside get ready for a whole new ride.

The Little Mermaid - Ariel’s Undersea Adventure is a brand new ride, and while it’s no roller coaster, we can resist reliving a little bit of one of our elementary school favorites. New animatronics will make you feel just like you’re under the sea when it opens up to one and all on June 3.

Back over at Disneyland, the summer season officially begins with the debut of Mickey’s Soundsational Parade on May 27. Expect the usual Disney parade stuff including some snappy music featuring plenty of Disney character cameos and lots of floats.

June 3 is also a big day at Disneyland, as that's when the revamped version of Star Tours will fire up for the fist time. Things are in 3D now, and you’ll be sent to exotic destinations like Coruscant and Tatooine. We’re hoping for no Jar Jar Binks, but even he probably can’t ruin a brand new Star Wars ride. For those limited to Florida this summer, a similar version of the Star Wars experience opens up at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 20.
