Foursquare Has a List, Checked It Twice, Found Out What Cities are Naughty or Nice

Yo, Travel + Leisure, go suck an egg. Remember your January report on the Rudest Cities in the USAFoursquare.

Foursquare has released their own list of the rudest cities, but they're the Rudest Cities in the World, based on the percentage of time tips left by Foursquare users contained cuss words. Surely that's a better modern factor for judging a city's rudeness than, say, how many romantic-ambience restaurants are in the city.

There's a hugely fascinating post on the tech aspects of collecting this data over on the Foursquare Engineering blog and you can view the results in the image above.

You know what? It looks about right! None of this Santa-Fe-is-both-friendlies-and-rudest business that T+L's list gives us. Do note that California cities are very fond of cursing, as is Manchester, UK as a whole. Note to self: brush up on offensive British slang terms before next Britain trip.

Oh yes, and did we mention that you can follow our globe-trotting and awesome tips on Foursquare too? Do it here!.
