The 'Best Job in the World' is Back, But This Time It's for an Entire Company to Win

Australia is up to their travel contest tricks again, but this time their sights are set on the lucrative business travel market. Please welcome the "Million Dollar Memo" competition, which will see the staff of one company, from anywhere in the world, transported to Queensland for a company retreat worth one million dollars (AUD).

This contest is the latest in what's becoming a long line of dream job competitions. First there was the hugely successful Best Job in the World; then there was the Best Experience in the World, and eventually the knock-off contests followed, like "Honeymoon Testers" and "Wine Country Lifestyle Correspondent." Nothing beats Tourism Queensland however, the original inventors of giving away a "job" that instead sounds like a life in paradise, amplified across social media.

The good news is that this contest is open to business from around the world (even those in Queensland). The bad news is that you'll have to submit a 60-second video telling your company's story in a way that stands out from other submissions, in order to make the Top 50. From the Top 50, Tourism Queensland will choose the Top 20, representatives from which will be flown to Queensland for the final run-off. Who from your job would get to go—the boss or the Employee of the Month? Hmm...time to start thinking about that.

Submissions are open now, and you can send in your video and see the contest rules HERE. The submission period closes on May 1, from which point there will be months of reviewing the videos and doing People's Choice votes and whatnot until the final winning company is revealed on August 31. So don't start packing quite yet, but do put your thinking caps on over the water cooler and ask around the office to see who has the best digital camera to capture your video.
