The Five Best Airport Bars for Toasting St. Patrick's Day

Being stuck at the airport on St. Patrick’s Day is definitely not the best way to celebrate the holiday. However, we’re pretty sure you can find some fellow travelers eager to toast to the Irish this week at airports across the globe. So pull up a stool, belly up to the bar, and order a pint of Guinness at one of our picks for the five best airport bars to celebrate all things green::

· Corcoran's Irish Pub at LAS
Lady Luck meets the Luck o’ The Irish at Las Vegas-McCarran Airport in Las Vegas. You’ll need to take a break from the terminal slot machines—like you have any money leftover anyway—to check out Corcoran's Irish Pub between gates C1 and C2. Expect the usual not-that-authentic recreation of a neighborhood pub, but that’s exactly what we want to experience this Thursday. Just take it easy with those Irish Car Bomb shots, as you don’t want to be turned away before boarding.

· Fionn MacCool’s at YYZ
Canada’s largest airport Toronto-Pearson will be celebrating the season this week with their version of an Irish Pub right within Terminal 3. The place has only been around for a year or so, but they promise to fill you up with both Irish inspired food and beverage. Get something to go along with your liquid lunch like a Guinness Steak and Mushroom Crock, but we’re sure they have a burger if you’re not that into the Irish food offerings this week.

· Thee Irish Pub at DTW
If your green beer intake has been limited due to a business trip or leisure adventure in the Midwest or beyond, there’s a chance you’ll be flying through Detroit Metro Airport. During your layover head to Concourse B within the McNamara Terminal to find plenty of other travelers wearing green at Thee Irish Pub. It’s between Gates B11 and B7, and you’ll definitely be able to grab a pint of Guinness or Smithwicks before heading to the boarding door.

· The Irish Village at DXB
You’re a long way from home if you’re traveling through Dubai this week, but the St. Patrick’s Day celebration knows no boundaries or borders. Grab a seat at the bar near gate 123 at The Irish Village. Expect a dark wood-paneled interior along with plenty of signs celebrating some of Ireland’s favorite brands. They promise traditional Irish fare, but as long as we can grab a pint or three we’ll feel right at home. The Middle East isn’t really known for their love of alcohol, but this place is looking to change that—at least on Thursday.

· Tigin Irish Pub at JFK
The perfect pint is only moments away if you’re stuck at JFK Airport this week, as Tigin Irish Pub is ready to welcome you within Terminal 4. We’re sure that that frequent fliers and spring breakers will be enjoying a few drinks in honor of the Emerald Isle—or at least for some green beads or a wacky oversized hat. They’ve got food too, but we know what you’re really interested in—we can’t blame you for ordering one too many pints of Harp.
