SXSW Announces Their Full Film Line-Up

In addition to the handful of films that have already been revealed, South By Southwest announced its full line-up for 2011 last week.

Among the 130 feature films being showcased at SXSW, which kicks off in Austin on March 11, will be the ghost story "The Innkeepers"; "Foo Fighters," a documentary about the band, the world premiere of "Girl Walks into a Bar", starring Zachery Quinto and Josh Hartnett, and the U.S. premiere of "Super", starring Rainn Wilson and Ellen Page.

In the Narrative Feature Competition, the horror film "96 Minutes" and the drama "A Year in Mooring" will compete against six other movies for the festival’s Grand Jury and Audience prizes.

The film festival will include 60 world premieres, 12 North American premieres, and 16 U.S. premieres that were chosen from more than 5000 submissions.

And while some of these selections may seem a bit lowbrow for a major U.S. film festival, SXSW actually strives to have an eclectic mix of genres represented each year. "We skew young, edgy, we're not as politically correct, we can do humor, we can go grosser," says film conference and festival producer Janet Pierson.

If you plan on attending SXSW, keep in mind that there are only three days left to receive the registration discount. After Friday, Feb. 11, the prices increase to the walk-up rate. You can register at sxsxw.com as well.
