J:But do you tone down your makeup when flying? How do you keep your complexion clear?
D: I wear mascara and red lipstick, hair in a chignon, and sunglasses for a chic but polished look. When I settle into my seat I remove my makeup and moisturize, then I reapply just a few minutes before landing.
J: Do you ever eat airline meals?
D: Yes, when I'm traveling a long-haul flight, but I usually try to eat before I go to the airport.
J: So, what do you eat with your Cointreau cocktails?
D: When I'm entertaining at home, I love making simple but elegant appetizers. I usually choose a selection of savory and sweet things that are fairly simple to make, but the presentation is everything, so I serve them on beautiful antique dishes I find at antique flea markets.
J: What's the one thing you wish you could bring with you when you travel, that you can't?
D: My Vitamix brand blender! I live off of green smoothies, so my body craves them when I'm traveling. I did recently get a travel blender, but it's no match for the powerful Vitamix! I make smoothies with spinach, lettuce, banana, apple and ginger. Ever since I've been doing this, I get sick a lot less often and my body feels so much better.
