· WestJet:
For Canadians looking to get away on vacation there’s no better airline than WestJet, and now the airline is bringing two warm weather spots in California to those stuck up in the cold. This spring Vancouver and Calgary will be getting new nonstop options directly into Orange County—perfect access to some pretty good beaches and some really good theme parks. The Vancouver flights will start at the beginning of May, and those looking to escape Calgary for some Disneyland will need to wait until June 13. Flights start at just $99 each way—not too shabby.
· Air Canada:
Earlier this week, Air Canada let everyone know that they have the hots for Japan, and they’re showing their love by adding more nonstop flights across the Pacific. Nonstop flights from Calgary to Tokyo-Haneda will increase to five times per week, and if demand remains high the airline is thinking about keeping things on the scheduled permanently. The new route begins in March, so now’s the time to start planning your escape to the Far East.
· Copa Airlines:
If you want to go to Panama, make sure you give Copa Airlines a little bit of consideration. The airline is adding three new spots as part of their plans to expand where they land in 2011. Starting in June, Panama City will see new flights to and from Toronto, the Bahamas, and Porte Alegre, Brazil. Copa is also boosting frequencies at some preexisting destinations, as Orlando and Miami will each see an extra round trip option per day. It looks like the country is coming into its own as a tourism destination, and Copa is ready to cash in.
