Best of all they’re looking for volunteer photographers, as they want you to send in any and all pictures that you can find. It doesn’t matter how boring, drab, or dirty—if it’s a carpet in an airport just send it in, and you can become your very own "airport carpeteer." Just make sure you don’t get all creative with your camera angle, as they just want shots from above—so keep it simple!
Honestly we’re probably bigger fans of airport floor tiles—they’re easier to keep clean and less prone to getting smelly—but we wasted quite a bit of time checking out airport carpets around the world, and we hardily recommend that you do the same during your next extended layover. We’ll never look at an airport carpet the same way again, and we’ll probably start looking for our favorite.
