Hit Up 'Partnerpalooza' to Score Free Flights on Southwest

We’re still busy digesting the latest news from Southwest Airlines, and what it means for low fares, free checked bags, and in-flight WiFi. Despite having some more serious matters to attend to, Southwest is launching a “Partnerpalooza” sweepstakes to help Rapid Rewards members win free flights and much more.

Now through December 15, all you have to do is make a purchase with Rapid Rewards partners for a chance to score free swag. Partners include rental car companies—think Avis and Hertz—as well as hotel chains. Just make sure to register your Rapid Rewards number before you start whipping out the credit card and begin spending.

Each time you utilize the services of a Rapid Rewards partner you’ll get another entry in the contest, so there’s definitely a few chances to score a prize. Southwest is offering up 12 Rapid Rewards Award Tickets, but the best prize option has to be a Companion Pass. The pass is just what it sounds like, as it allows a buddy to go with you on each and every one of your flights. You have to pay for yours, but your favorite travel partner will be free to tag along.

There’s a bunch of instant win prizes as well, but we’ll be shooting for the big prizes. Sure, it’s a long shot to score free travel, but it’s worth a chance. Especially if the free travel could be international once AirTran and Southwest complete the process of shacking up.
