Oregon Uses 'Twilight' to Encourage Drivers to Buckle Up

Oregon's Department of Transportation is leveraging the popularity of The Twilight Saga to bring attention to an important safety. Billboards have started popping up on Portland highways that say, "You Are Not Immortal. Buckle Up." And, its no coincidence that the message is written in a Twilightesque font. Some are arguing that the signs may actually be a distraction to Twihards, while they will be lost on everyone else. But the ODOT is hoping the signs will make wearing a seat belt as popular as Robert Pattinson.

And, as some fans are debating the validity of the Twilight billboards, another is busy planning a private trip to the Breaking Dawn set in Vancouver next year. On Friday, that Twilight Set Visit Charity Auction ended after 10 days, 95 bids and a heated last few minutes that resulted in an increase of $20,000.

The winning bidder, y**a, ended up paying more than $60,000 for the chance to spend one day on the set of the next Twilight movie. Though $60,100 seems like an excessive amount for just one day, the proceeds do go toward cancer research, so that makes it all worth while.
