· When's Camp:
Getting back to the glory of last season’s playoff push takes practice and dedication, and that’s why the team started up training camp on August 2. Things will run through August 19, but after that the Jets have to get ready for the exhibition games before the real season gets underway.
· Where's Camp:
The Jets take a little bit of a road trip for their training camp sessions, and they actually practice in New York. This is unlike the regular season when they do things in New Jersey. Most practices are at SUNY Cortland, and it’s quite a ride for those coming from the New York metro area—like four hours. There’s usually two practices open to the public per day around 8:30am and 4:30pm, but there are a couple days where the team only works out once. There are a few scattered events in New Jersey and Long Island as well.
· What's it Cost:
Supporting Gang Green doesn’t cost a thing, but SUNY Cortland does want $5 of your hard earned money for parking. However, the money does go to support the college and maybe your contribution will help build a future Jet. There’s no parking for the times that the Jets are at Hofstra University or at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center in Florham Park, New Jersey.
· What Else:
Jets training camp is more than just practice and begging for pictures and autographs, as the team has launched Generation Jets Fest. It’s an interactive theme park mostly for the younger crowd with rides and attractions. Just like at the stadium during regular games, there will be food, beverages, and plenty of Jets stuff available for sale. Finally, make sure you look your best because the cameras of HBO just might get you in one of their shots, as the Jets are featured in this year’s TV series Hard Knocks.
