Things You See on a Road Trip: Weird Vending Machines
All this week, we're taking a road trip. The only difference between this and a regular road trip is that we're not leaving the road; instead, we're looking all the little things you overlook while driving long distances, but that make the road trip experience complete. Have a favorite thing you look for on the road too? Let us know in the comments!
Forget M&Ms, Doritos and Tastycakes; the vending machine becomes less of a snack dispenser when you're on the road and more of an art form. Recently, while at a an odd rest stop in Delaware, we stumbled upon a machine for nothing less than the freeze-dried "ice cream of the future," Dippin' Dots, but the craziness doesn't stop there.
Perhaps it's Japanese influence, what with their love of dispensing everything short of human organs via vending machines, but the more you drive around the country, the more you might notice the variety of such automated retail kiosks. Clean underwear in a can? Check. Foldable toothbrushes in a gumball machine? Check. We're just hoping to stumble upon a do-it-yourself Breathalyzer test next.
What's the craziest vending machine you've ever seen?
