Is United's New Merger Look Pretty or Pretty Lame?

The closer we get to seeing United and Continental, the weirder it feels. On their way to ousting Delta as the world's largest airline, the UA/CO combo is rebranding and they've just announced their new airplane livery (see it above).

We can't decide if we like it or not. The font of "United" is obviously a modern update, and they've switched to capitalize all letters, but the Continental tail just look off. Also, it's very white.

Now we're turning it over to you. What do you think of the new look?

Awful substitution for the Real United Airlines

Great way to destroy a worldwide, recognized brand such as United. It's Just Eh...

They could have done anything, but they chose this? The font weirds me out too... or maybe it's just an iffy Photoshop.

staid and boring

this just screams legacy carrier. actually, it's so dull it can't even scream. maybe it's better to say, "it just sighs legacy carrier." it actually looks as if united and continental just gave up somewhere. they could have really invigorated their look. sigh.

Or maybe they wanted to save on repainting the planes . . .

As a Continental pilot once told me, the new look's United logo is too small. They may think it looks cleaner this way, but rebranding happening across other airlines says the opposite.
