At this time next week, you could be sorting through a brown paper bag full of deeply discounted designer duds you just scored at the semiannual Barneys Warehouse Sale. Or, if you're in SoCal, then you can do that at any time since the sale is going on now in Los Angeles and will continue through this weekend before it moves on to deliver the coup de grace in New York.
We go (several) times each time the sale happens, and believe us when we say that many international design diehards plan their New York shopping trips and vacations around it. It's a fashion feeding frenzy. But then, with last season's Prada, Lanvin, Givenchy and tons more available at prices a fraction of their retail, you can't expect perfect civility. There will be elbows and there will be people frantically stripping in front of mirrors, and the energy is awesome.
