· Continental:
Seeing mummies in Los Angeles is a start, but to really learn how to walk like an Egyptian you’re going to need to visit where it all started. Continental Airlines wants to help you out, but it might take a little bit of time. The airline is planning to fly to Cairo from Newark starting in May 2011, but they’ll need to get the official okay from the government before fueling the plane for the first time. The flight will take about 12 hours heading westward, so be sure that iPod is charged with Brendan Fraser movies.
· Finnair:
Next May is apparently a hot time for new routes as Finnair is also looking to head to new places starting in 2011. The airline is planning to send Airbus A340 aircraft back and forth from Helsinki and Singapore. Sure it's not a new route of our dreams, but it is a flight that could make an around-the-world itinerary a little bit more convenient.
· American Airlines:
A couple weeks ago we mentioned that American Airlines was busy improving their schedule to South America. Apparently not satisfied with their flights from JFK, the airline is now looking to expand its options out of Dallas/Fort Worth. American has asked for permission to begin flying to Rio de Janeiro from its Texas hub, and if they get what they want, the flight would run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The more options to Brazil the better, as we will need to get to either the Olympics or the World Cup.
