· Hawaiian Airlines:
They just started getting their new Airbus aircraft, and now they are looking to send those old Boeing jets elsewhere. Hawaiian Airlines announced this week that they will begin nonstop service to South Korea beginning in January with Boeing 767 aircraft. The flights will head from Honolulu to Seoul—and back—four times a week, but the airline eventually wants to expand the route to daily service. Let’s just hope that they can carry that Aloha spirit the other way across the Pacific as well.
· Aeromexico:
If you need to go to Colombia or Mexico, and don’t want to stop in the United States, Aeromexico has you covered. Beginning July 6, the airline will start daily flights between Mexico City and Bogotá. With plenty of flights available out of Mexico, travelers looking to head out from Colombia can do so without a stop in the nifty fifty. That’s a good thing because Uncle Sam requires a visa for any stops in the US. The new flights leave Bogotá at 1:00am—oof—and get to Mexico City at 5:35am.
· American Airlines:
Fall football weather is only months away, so we’re thinking that there are many Gator fans pumped about this latest route announcement. American Airlines is adding Gainesville, Florida to its regional route network just in time for college football season. Beginning October 1, the airline will complete two daily roundtrip flights from its hub in Miami. This will connect travelers to at least 50 spots across the country, and more than 60 destinations overseas. They better stock extra alcohol on these routes on Fridays before game day.
