Allegiant, Air Canada, and easyJet Have Already Planned New Routes for Fall

Sometimes it’s hard to stay on top of all the new route announcements that come our way, so we’ve complied a little bit of a rundown below. As long as you can afford the fares, this should definitely help add to your passport stamp collection.

· Allegiant Air:
Things at Allegiant Air have been somewhat quiet over the last few months after they announced future plans to Hawaii, but now they’re back to business and looking to increase their presence across the nifty fifty. The airline announced service from Colorado Springs to both Phoenix-Mesa and Long Beach. The new flights will run just twice a week—on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting September 15—with one-way fares starting at just $30. As is the case with most low cost carriers, watch out for those extra fees before getting all caught up with the cheapo fares.

· Air Canada:
We think it’s a little too soon to start planning for next year’s Mardi Gras, but Air Canada thinks otherwise. They’re looking to expand the options from their base in Toronto with new service to New Orleans. The flights will start at the end of October and take place daily. Air Canada will utilize their Jazz branch to operate the flights with CRJ 705 planes. At first we were concerned about a long regional jet flight, but the airline promises seatback audio-visual entertainment, so we can suck it up.

· Delta:
A couple weeks ago we talked about airlines getting access to the other Tokyo airport, and now Delta has released its plans for flying to and from Haneda Airport. The new flights won’t start up until January 29 of next year, but you will be able to shell out the cash for the tickets starting this Saturday. The flights will leave Detroit and Los Angeles daily, and be operated with Boeing 747s.

· easyJet:
Summer is still going strong across the top half of the globe, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t start thinking about our winter vacations. EasyJet beat us to it, as they have announced their plans to run eight new routes this winter across Europe. Some of the new flights include Hamburg, Gothenburg, and Amsterdam from Manchester. Also, there’s service from London-Gatwick to Zagreb and Gothenburg. Some of the flights will start at slightly different times, but the new flights should run at some point between October and March.

· American Airlines:
We realize that this isn’t the most exciting route, but for residents of Wyoming this is probably awesome. American Eagle has started regional jet service from Cheyenne to their home base in Dallas/Ft. Worth. The flights will run twice a day around 1pm and 8pm, and will allow passengers to get pretty much anywhere via American’s Texas hub. Apparently the new route is just in time for the largest outdoor rodeo in the world at Cheyenne Frontier Days. Maybe the new flight will bring in some visitors instead of just allowing people to escape from Wyoming for a bit.
