For $13,000, You Too Can Have Hermès Luggage
How much did you spend on your luggage? Is it a $500 Tumi special edition, or a $25 generic case from the seasonal shelves of your local Rite Aid? Either way, it is probably not nearly as technologically advanced or absolutely expensive as the "Orion" case by French luxury house Hermès. At $13,100 for just this one piece of luggage, it's definitely one of the priciest pieces of functional luggage we've ever seen, because we all know there are not-so-functional bags out there for six figures.
The Orion comes from Hermès' Spring/Summer 2010 Collection, which means it could be going on sale soon! That is, if they haven't all been bought up by Columbian drug lords or Russian spies.
Designed by Gabriele Pezzlini, the Hermès Orion costs so much for more reason than just the illustrious Hermès name; it's aluminum reinforced with carbon and Kevlarin layman's terms that means it's bulletproof. Not to mention that the interior is lined in a fine, natural cowhide.
So what do you think? Will it get added to your Christmas in July list?
