You May Fly on 'My WINGS' During Your Next Trip to Germany

If you’ve booked your transatlantic flight to Europe already and are still thinking about which low cost carrier to use to get around, we’ve got another one to add to the mix. Joining the crowded field is My WINGS—they seem to enjoy capitalization. The airline will be based in Germany at Friedrichshafen Airport. They’ll be fighting it out for market share with other cheap carriers like Germanwings and Iceland Express; however, My WINGS won’t be going to any similar destinations so they should get a good headstart.

Rome, London, and Alicante are just a few of the destinations that they plan to visit when things start up next month. As of now the airline is looking to fill up the tanks and stuff the cabin full of passengers beginning August 11. We’re eager to see what their livery looks like plastered against the MD-87 aircraft that they plan to use.

Of course no LCC is complete without a good deal to start things off, and these guys seem to know what they’re doing with ticket prices. They aren’t the cutthroat type like those offered by Ryanair, but they’re not horrible. Just 79 Euros will get you to London-Gatwick, which is just about $100, but that’s only one way.

The baggage allowances, as translated by @flyingwithfish: "Carry on bag is 21.5"x15.5"x7.5", a max weight of 17.5lbs. Checked bags they allow 44lbs free, regardless of how many bags."

MyWings stops ticket sales

My Wings wont fly anytime soon since, apparently, the airline could not secure a licence for the one airplane which was supposed to be the "fleet". doesnt sound very promising too me... for more info check out the link (in German): http://www.airliners.de/verkehr/netzwerkplanung/my-wings-bleibt-vorerst-am-boden/21973
