No More Southwest Airlines for Kevin Smith; He Bought a Bus

July 12, 2010 at 2:46 PM | by | Comments (0)

Even though Kevin Smith was kicked off a Southwest plane for being "too fat" back in February, he's not letting that keep him stranded in L.A. The actor/director is taking his weekly Smodcast podcast, which he hosts with his producing partner Scott Mosieron, on tour later this month.

He recently took to Twitter (where his rant against Southwest originated) to explain how he's been getting to gigs since the incident. "In our divorce, they got the sky, I got the ground. Now I roam the Earth in a bus," he told one of his followers. That's right, instead of risking the embarrassment of being the fat guy on another flight, he did what any celeb in his position who do, he bought a bus.

The Live Nude Smod: Southworst Tour kicks off at The Improv in Los Angeles on July 21 then continues to The Improv Tempe in Tempe, AZ on July 26, Allen Cineport 10 in Las Cruces NM on July 27, Granada Theater in Dallas, TX on July 28, Alamo West Oaks in Houston on July 29 and wraps up at Studio 35 in Columbus, OH on July 31. You can buy tickets to any of these gigs at Viewaskew.com.

If Kevin ever does have to fly again, it won't be on Southwest. "Southwest has grounded me. I will soar no more on their wings," he recently told the Montreal Gazette.
