While the promise of seeing scantily clad, dirt-covered ladies wrestling appeals to a certain, um, crowd, there's more to the festival. The mineral-rich mud is supposed to have great health benefits, especially for your skin. So you can skip a pricey spa and just slather on a mask here. You can get treatments like the mud body painting and a mud massage. Then you can join the mud parade to show off your filthy self.
If you don't want to get muddy, don't bother coming to the fest. Unsoiled people will get sent to the mud prison. Kiddies will have their own ways to get in on the fun. In the past, the festival has offered a separate mud area for little ones and have done activities like make mud soap, which is made of ingredients like natural mud powder and aromatherapy oil. At least parents won't have to worry about their kids getting dirty.
