This isn't Hogwarts, but... Mexico wants to turn 35 of its towns into Pueblos Magicos, or Magic Villages. These Pueblos Magicos aren’t disappearing cities or anything like that. They get the moniker for having preserved a part of Mexican culture, whether it be something with historical or religious significance.

The government will spend $150 million to restore these villages, which includes renovating museums, convents and churches. The hope is to give every Pueblo Magico its own identity and for each to be a unique tourist draw.

There are 25 Pueblos Magicos in 32 Mexican states. The Pueblos Magicos thus far include Real de Catorce, a scenic spot where Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts shot the movie The Mexican—we hope that the lame flick wasn't a factor in choosing this place—and Dolores Hidalgo, which has a bell tower that was used when the Rev. Miguel Hidalgo declared Mexico's independence in 1810.

Among the proposed sites is Taxco, a town famous for handmade silver jewelery, and San Cristobal de las Casas, whose population is made up of 40 percent Indians. Perhaps someday soon, Mexico will be do a "collect them all" tourist campaign when these magic villages are done and restored?
