The Spa is actually designed to be friendly to both adults and children, so giving your child her first spa experience with a nail art session could be quite the cute way to bond while in Shanghai.
If you're familiar with the American Girl stores (and their cafes and doll beauty centers) in the US, then you'll be pretty comfortable with the Barbie flagship, even if it they take it to the max here.

And, just like American Girl, you can also custom-design your own Barbie doll at the store's Design Center. No pointing and picking here though; shoppers use computers in a setting that invokes a real design studio, and yes you can even feel the fabrics before choosing the doll outfit.
