American Introduces 'Your Choice' Plans for Priority Boarding at an Extra Fee

Would you pay $19 extra to board before everyone else on your next American Airlines flight? The airline is hoping that's a "yes," because they've just announced a new "Your Choice" service which, for $9-$19 depending on your flight, allows you to board before other Economy passengers, in addition to a couple other small perks for your extra money.

The plan is officially called the "Boarding and Flexibility Package," and aside from the ability to board in Group 1 of general boarding, you also get a $75 Flight Change Discount (taking $75 off the cost of any rebooking fees)and free stand-by on any earlier flights that day.

Here are some sample prices taken from the official press release on the service:

$9 for Dallas/Fort Worth to Kansas City, Mo.
$14 for Chicago O'Hare to Boston
$14 for Dallas/Fort Worth to Orlando, Fla.
$14 for Miami to Washington, D.C.
$19 for New York JFK to Los Angeles

Also we should expect another extra fee from American later in the summer, as they introduce priority boarding in economy, granted to those who pay a flat $10 fee each way for the pleasure, but you have to buy it for each leg, so really it's an extra $20 for a round-trip. This option will be purchasable online and at kiosks when you check-in, but only up to one hour before boarding, so that no snotty passengers are able to buy their way to the front of the lines at the last minute.

Will you fork over the extra cash for these "Your Choice" plans or not? Share your opinion in the comments!
