There is no minimum time requirement, so some WWOOFers stay on one farm for several weeks while others take weekend getaways to WWOOF farms whenever they can.
Farm owner Rachelle Bostwick explained that the experience can be life changing: "How much impact can a weekend have? But it changes lives," Bostwick told MLive.com. "It's so profoundit's just weeding, seeding, harvesting, but it's bigger than it seems." To become a WWOOFer, you can join WWOOF online for access to the Online Directory of more than 1200 Host Farms in the US, including Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. There is a $30 yearly registration fee when joining.
