The TSA is Cool With iPads, But What About International Airports?

Have you been worried about taking your shiny new iPad through airport security? You shouldn't be! At least in the United States, as the TSA posted an official blog the other day stating that "electronic items smaller than the standard sized laptop should not need to be removed from your bag or their cases." it's smooth sailing through security then for iPads in TSA territories, but what about international airports?

The general rule for traveling with any nice gadget is not to make a big show of it, because even if the airport security screeners don't care, someone else in line behind you with sticky fingers might. That said, there are countries where you'll have to be particularly eagle-eyed when you put your iPad through the scanner, mainly owing to unfamiliarity with the device.

But airports where bribes or corruption is normal, like Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport with it's Zig-Zag Scams, are where you'll have to be extra careful to keep it its case or maybe not even bring it along on the trip at all. Better safe than sorry, if we can borrow a phrase from your mom.
