THE RACE

All of the teams fly to Penang, Malaysia. Before the trip, the detectives confess they feel threatened by the dating divas and make a pact with the South Carolinas—their new BFFs—to boot them from the race.

The cute bros get the lead to the Snake Temple, named for the resident serpants who slither there, thanks to their Speedracer cabbie. But after the temple, they let him go and regret it instantly.

DETOUR
Racers must pick between Buddhist tradition in or Chinese custom. In Buddhist tradition, they have to lug 12 ginormous incense sticks up a temple incline of 150 steps and light them in a burner. In Chinese custom, teams must balance chingay, 32-foot flagpoles used to celebrate Chinese New Year, on their foreheads while walking 120 feet across a park.

The racers disperse to their respective detour sites. But the cowboys can't seem to find a taxi. They finally snag one and go to the park for some forehead flag fun. The challenge looks daunting, but the cowboys get the hang of it and finish it quickly. Then the guys hit a speed bump, their penalty for getting a free pass from last week's elimination. They visit the Tropical Spice Garden, where someone is preparing spices for a tea. The cowboys have to sniff the spice, determine which tea uses it, and serve the correct cuppa to a guru. The guys get it right on their second try.

The rest of the teams choose the incense challenge. When the cabs get stuck in traffic, the cute bros and the dad-daughter team decide to run the rest of the way to the detour. But they underestimated the distance and end up in the wrong place. The cabless cute bros unsuccessfully try to steal dad and daughter's taxi. But that's the least of dad and daughter's problems. Their cabbie can't find the temple, so they decide to give the incense task a go. Immediately realizing they can't complete the detour, dad and daughter go back to finding the temple of incense.

Meanwhile, the teams are struggling to carry the big incense sticks up the steps with the sun blaring overhead. Louie hacks up a lung hustling up and down the steps, and the divas are slow moving.

After the detour, teams proceed to a temple in the seaside village of Teluk Bahang for their next clue.

ROADBLOCK
Teams will take part in a Hindu luck ritual. They have to smash coconuts until they find one with a bright-colored milk in it. Then they must use the colorful coconut scraps to make a "float," or offering, and cast it out to sea. "This is my first time for arts and crafts," Jet says as he decorates the float with flower petals.

The South Carolinas were in the front, but their driver got lost, which cost them a lot of time. But the cute bros have a worse driver; he stops to fill up on gas on the way to the roadblock.

PIT STOP
Don't call it a comeback—the almost-eliminated cowboys arrive first to the pit stop, Pinang Peranakan Mansion, and win a trip for two to Maui. The dating divas are second and the detectives are third.

OUSTED
The cute bros and dad and daughter are in the back of the pack. But as the cowboys have a complete turnaround, so do dad and daughter. After winning last week, they are eliminated in this leg. The upshot is that they can finally get a new set of clothes. With the heat the all of the running, you know that's got to be two funky-smelling people. “This whole thing has been so special. I’ve had the time of my life,” dad says, “I’ll always remember this is our time. I got a World Series ring and I’m gonna have to tell you, but it jumped ahead of it.”

NEXT WEEK
In Singapore, the cute bros have to conquer their fear of heights and the South Carolinas do something to piss of the dating divas.
