Art Brut rocks out at the first Pitchfork Music Festival in 2006.

While blockbuster music festivals like Coachella seem get all of the love, the little indie fest that could, the Pitchfork Music Festival, will bring hot beats from more than 40 bands like LCD Soundsystem to Chicago from July 16 to 18. Indie artists in every genre, from hip-hop to rock 'n' roll, will perform at the fifth annual festival.

The band lineup has just been released and tickets are already selling like hotcakes, even thought the festival is yet months away, so get a move on if you want to jam to the best indie music with thousands of others with the same desire.

Ticket info and more, after the jump.

· Tickets
Pitchfork tickets go quickly because they aren't eye-gougingly expensive. The three-day passes sold out already. But you can still pick up one-day passes for $40 at Ticketweb.

· Lineup
This year's lineup is jam-packed. Some of the must-watch acts are rockers Modest Mouse, dance-punk group LCD Soundsystem, Canadian rock group Broken Social Scene, OutKast's Big Boi, hip-hop pioneer El-P and Swedish pop songstress Robyn.

· Location
The performances will go down in Chicago's Union Park. It'll be crowded, so try taking public transportation rather than driving to the venue. The park is conveniently only steps away from the Green Line's Ashland El stop. There also will be a special parking area for bikes, in case you want to pedal your way there.

· Lodging
The Chicago Marriott at Medical District/UIC is one of the closest hotels, since it's about a mile away from the park, and the budget option Crowne Plaza Chicago-Metro is only a mile and a half away. But since the venue is so accessible by public transportation, you can stay anywhere downtown for easy access. In that case, we recommend the Hotel Sax, only two miles away and tucked in next to the House of Blues, right on the Chicago River and walking distance to everything else.

Amazing!

This is going to be a great festival. Wish I could make it out to Chicago for it. A few other amazing bands worth mentioning are Beach House, Panda Bear, Girls and Surfer Blood. Look forward to your postings on this festival!
