Sadly, most of the nominees won't take any of these amazing trips though. Thanks to new tax laws, if they choose to keep the bags, they have to pay taxes on the estimated value of the bag. So, instead of getting stuck with a hefty tax bill from Uncle Sam, celebs usually donate the gift bags to their favorite charities and get a tax break for the $91,000 worth of swag.
Oscar swag isn't only for nominees. The production company GBK welcomed celebs like Sigourney Weaver and Anne Heche to their their celebrity gift lounge where they were offering a $10,000 Montana luxury ranch experience at The Ranch at Rock Creek among other fun experiences.
And even Lauren Bush got in on the action with her FEED Haiti tote bags. The Oscar goodie bags included Virgin Atlantic Gold Cards which provides access to world class lounges, priority check-in, upgrades, limo service and more miles. We are just ridiculously jealous at this gift.
So how do you feel about all the free travel perks given to celebs at the Oscars? Would you take the safari or donate it? These are the important questions on post-Oscar days like today.
