Travel in 5-Star Luxury for Six Months for Free as a 'Honeymoon Tester'
Remember Ben Southall? He was the Brit who won last year's "Best Job in the World," which made him a well-paid "reef caretaker" on Hamilton Island in the Queensland region of Australia and made the Queensland Tourism board very very happy with all the publicity. The contest was huge, and many smaller wannabe "best job in the world" contests have sprung up since then, but nothing has sounded as awesome as the latest: Have the 'Ultimate Job' of Honeymoon Testers.
The contestwhich only has a week left, so send your application ASAPwill send a winning couple around the world to stay at 5-star resorts and have honeymoon after honeymoon along with a fat cash sum of 20,000 Euros, so long as they blog about their experiences a few times a week and write for The Irish Times monthly. The contest is open to all couples who submit their details to the Irish travel agency website running the contest, RunawayBrideandGroom.com. There's just one catch: you may not have to be Irish, but you "do have to tour Ireland as part of the process." For instance, CNN discovered that an American couple has offered to move their wedding from California to Ireland if they are chosen. Tough competition.
How to apply, after the jump.
But no, you don't have to be newlyweds...and as far as we know, there aren't even any rules about sexual orientation of the couple. Applications for The Ultimate Job are due April 7. You and your partner must "make an 80 second webcast telling why Ireland is a great destination wedding location and why you, as a couple, are perfect for the job." APPLY HERE.
Spoiler alert: Judging from some of the sponsors of the contest, two of the places you'll be heading are Kenya and Zanzibar.
