When it comes to flying on an airplane, children can often be the most discerning of travelers. They won't put up with bad food, lack of amenities, or frankly, anything they doesn't wanna.

So we took a look at the perks airlines offer the pint-sized set to see if kids do have a good reason to whine. Sure, some airlines roll out the red carpet; Southwest accommodates kids before they even board the plane with special family areas at all the gates while other airlines shower kids with wings, kits, special menus and loads of entertainment options. But there's one thing they won't give your little one, though: Be sure to BYO blankie. Read on in our sections below for all of the details on how the airlines are keeping your kids happy, whether it's their first or fourteenth flight.

You get what you pay for!

I've found that most airlines used to provide loads of little gifts and extras for kids. Now with the price war amongst airlines it's more a case of you get what you pay for. If you fly budget don't expect much, a change table in the toilet is about as good as it will get, however if you pay more and fly with a more expensive airline you'll reap the benefits.
