From Runway to Runway: Supermodels Are Frequent Flyers Too!
Model Coco Rocha, who probably doesn't try to carry all that on
This is the face of a girl bred from a family steeped in aviation. This is also the face of one of the top supermodels right now. It's Coco Rocha (yes, that's her real name), and she just "wrote" a New York Times article about how growing up onboard planes now makes her more nervous than ever to fly, although she's typically jaunting around the world weekly.
With an uncle who founded Canada's Air Transat, a mother who's an Air Canada flight attendant and other relatives in the airline industry, you'd think that Coco would be completely at ease at 35,000 feet. But growing up in cockpitsshe says that when she was young, she used to curl up and sleep in cockpits on long-haul flights her mom workedhas had the opposite effect on the supermodel. "But I was always afraid that I would bump my head on a button and wind up crashing the plane." "I just know too much," she says.
We particularly enjoyed the question-and-answers portion of her article, in which she was asked what her least favorite airport is, and of course: New York-LaGuardia. She says:
I always get fooled. I’ll be sitting on the plane thinking we’re ready to take off, only to find out that we are 20th in line and are going to sit for a long, long time.
