You'll become an expert on the fab four's sixties reign as you examine the band in its early years through its Abbey Road and Let It Be eras. Plus you get to study in John, George, Ringo and Paul's homeland. Here's the course description:
Revered and reviled in equal measures, the sixties continue to fascinate. This course is a journey through it from the British perspective, noting key events in politics, society and the arts. We will trace the development of the music of the Beatles and place their songs in context by discussing examples by other notable British groups of the period. However familiar you think this music is, prepare to hear more in it than before.
Listening to Beatles classics will make this a summer school worth attending. Classes meet weekdays from 9:15 to 10:45 a.m. and then at 11:15 to 12:45 p.m., which means you'll have the afternoons and evenings free to do sightseeing. So it won't be a bunch of hard day's nights. Though you can opt to participate in organized after-school activities like a tour of Oxford, an Oxford rivers and castle walk, or a guided pub walk (after all, you are in England).
The six-day course, including tuition, student accommodations and meals, costs £1050, or $1,675.38. And don't worry about being forced to room with some hooligan; the rooms are singles.
