Toyota Recall Means You Might Not Have A Rental Car

In case you haven’t been paying attention, Toyota is having a little bit of trouble with many of their cars. Sticky accelerator pedals are the main problem, and the car maker is busy issuing a recall whilst figuring out how to fix this big issue. Most rental car companies have at least some Toyota vehicles in their fleets, and now companies are pulling them from the lots as they try to ensure that travelers stay safe.

Last week Hertz, Enterprise, and Avis announced that they’d be pulling affected Toyota models from their fleets. The Pontiac Vibe shares many similarities to certain Toyota models, and this car will be taken out of the mix as well. Hertz is chatting with Toyota to work things out, and they’re looking to get things fixed as soon as possible. Avis is pulling about 20,000 vehicles, and Enterprise admits that this recall might cause some limited availability.

Budget is doing the same thing in hopes of keeping their customers safe behind the wheel, and Zipcar is sharing a similar strategy. The car share service is not allowing reservations for any Toyota vehicles included in the recall. Zipcar officials are thinking that this recall will affect about 5 percent of their fleet—specifically the Toyota Matrix. If you’ve got a reservation coming up, it might be worth it to double-check to make sure that you’ll still have a car waiting.

Unknown Dangers

I heard about the car pedal recall but had no idea it affected my NON toyota truck good thing I found more info here http://www.carpedalrecall.com searched for my make, model, year and found my Ford truck had been recalled so look out! it could save a life maybe yours don't understand, what the car pedal recall is about? just watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03m7fmnhO0I after you watch it repsot this it could save lives this is a video showing how to stop a out of control car. Recently returned from a holiday in Portugal where my friends and I rented a car. Initially we were allocated a toyota but the car hire company in question was really good at not only providing us with another (more reliable) car but made the whole process painless.
