Customs Officials Rescue A Freezing Furry Friend From Airplane Cargo Hold

We’ve had some pretty bad flight experiences, but we’ve never experienced anything as bad as one poor little puppy. The cute little dog was headed from Mexico to New York, but when it arrived at JFK airport it wasn’t doing too well. The temperature was pretty cold in the cargo hold, and the six-week old pup was in danger of freezing to death.

US Customs officials were on the scene, and officers performed mouth-to-snout resuscitation to bring the furry friend back to life. Unfortunately there was another dog traveling in the cargo hold that did not fare as well. This is just another reminder why travelers should consider Pet Airways for their pet transportation needs.

The dog was warmed up, and after being checked out by a veterinarian, was picked up by its owner. We know we give federal officials a hard time when it’s related to air travel, but after this warm and fuzzy story, we’ll take try to take it easy. Maybe the TSA should stage their own dog rescue for some positive press—they could use some.
